Polymaker PolyMide™ CoPA Nylon black

Polymaker

PolyMide™ CoPA is based on the copolymer of nylon 6 and nylon 6,6. The filament combines high strength, mechanical, and thermal resistance up to 180˚C. Compared to other nylons, such as PA12, printing is significantly simpler. Moreover, thanks to the Warp-Free™ technology by Polymaker, you can print without the need for a heated print chamber or a closed print space, making it easier to print on standard 3D printers. More

Polymaker PolyMide™ CoPA is a filament based on nylon/polyamide and stands out due to the utilization of Polymaker Warp-Free™ technology. This innovative technology allows for the production of filament with excellent dimensional stability and almost zero deformation, ensuring hassle-free printing. Achieving such properties is the result of fine control over the microstructure and crystallization behavior of nylon, allowing the material to fully release internal stress before solidifying. The combination of nylon 6 and nylon 6,6 further offers an ideal balance of mechanical and thermal properties, making PolyMide™ CoPA surpass many traditional nylon materials like PA12.

Main advantages:

  • Durability and stability: PolyMide™ CoPA is UV resistant, has high mechanical and thermal resistance.
  • Improved printing: Warp-Free™ technology allows for easy printing with minimal deformation and excellent dimensional stability.
  • Usability: Due to its unique properties, this material is suitable for a wide range of applications, from technical parts to complex models.

excellent dimensional stability and almost no deformation

Manufacturer's recommended print parameters

  • Printing temperature: 250 - 270˚C
  • Bed temperature: 25 - 50 ˚C
  • Print surface: PA film, PI film, adhesive
  • Cooling fan for print: off
  • Printing speed: 30 - 60 mm/s
  • Retraction distance: 1 mm
  • Feed rate: 20 mm/s
  • Overhang angle threshold: 55°

When printing with PolyMide™ CoPA material, it is important to pay attention to several key recommendations. PolyMide™ CoPA is very sensitive to moisture. For optimal printing results, the material should be stored in dry conditions with a relative humidity below 20%. We generally recommend printing nylon directly from a Drybox.

If you are also using this material for printing supports, it's crucial to remove them before they absorb too much moisture, to avoid their permanent adhesion to the main model. PVA is the recommended material for printing supports.

After the print is completed, the object further absorbs moisture, which further enhances its hardness and flexibility.

After completing the print, it is recommended to anneal the model in an oven at 80°C for 6 hours to improve its mechanical properties.

Recommendations from Hotend.cz:

Depending on the specifics of your 3D printer and the slicer used, the optimal printing conditions may vary. We recommend respecting the manufacturer's temperature parameters and adapting them to the specific needs of your device.

For beginners in 3D printing, this material might be more challenging to set up. If you're looking for an easier-to-print material, try PLA or PET-G.

Safety notice: Comply with all manufacturer's safety recommendations and print in a well-ventilated environment.
