Temperature sensors - Trianglelab

Temperature control of the nozzle and heated bed of the 3D printer is critical for print output.

Thermistor is the most common temperature measurement device on 3D printers. It's a resistor whose resistance varies with temperature. Its advantages are its ease and immediacy of use in 3D printers, relatively high accuracy and low cost.

However, for higher temperature applications (typically at 280°C), resistive temperature detectors (RTDs) are required. The most commonly used are the PT100 and PT1000 sensors. However, these do not provide the accuracy of a thermistor or require additional electronic accessories, but these are gradually becoming part of better motherboards.
