Fiberlogy PP Polypropylene SkinTone 3

Natural Shade and Versatile Properties

Fiberlogy PP SkinTone 3 is part of the special SkinTone series, offering various human skin tones for realistic reproduction. The SkinTone 3 shade represents a darker tone inspired by natural skin colour, making it a perfect choice for medical models, prosthetics, or decorative projects.

This filament combines aesthetic appearance with the technical properties of polypropylene, such as low density, high flexibility, and resistance to chemicals and moisture. Thanks to its easy printability and good layer adhesion, it is suitable for both beginners and advanced users.

Recommended Applications

  • Anatomical Models: Realistic representation of body parts for educational or medical purposes.
  • Prosthetics: Manufacturing of lightweight and durable medical aids with a natural appearance.
  • Decorative Objects: Figurines, art projects, or cosplay accessories.
  • Functional Parts: Components exposed to mechanical stress or chemical substances.
  • Waterproof Products: Parts intended for humid environments due to low moisture absorption.

Key Features

  • Realistic SkinTone 3 Body Shade: Ideal for projects focused on detail and authenticity.
  • High Mechanical Resistance: Tensile strength at break up to 21 MPa.
  • Low Density: Enables production of lightweight yet strong parts (density 1.05 g/cm³).
  • Flexibility: Elongation at break up to 250%.
  • Heat Resistance: Stability at temperatures up to 80°C (HDT at 0.45 MPa).
  • Easy Printability: No heated bed required; packing tape recommended for better adhesion.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: Polypropylene (PP)
  • Filament Diameter: 1.75 mm
  • Diameter Tolerance: ±0.02 mm
  • Package Weight: 0.75 kg
  • Printing Temperature: 220–250°C
  • Bed Temperature: Not required (packing tape recommended)
  • Print Speed: Recommended up to 60 mm/s
  • Material Density: 1.05 g/cm³
  • Tensile Strength at Break: 21 MPa
  • Elongation at Break: Up to 250%
  • Heat Resistance (HDT): Up to 80°C at 0.45 MPa

Important Printing Notes

  • Build Plate: For best adhesion, we recommend using packing tape on the print bed. Heated bed is not necessary.
  • Retraction: Retraction settings depend on the specific printer. Experimenting with values around 4-6 mm at 30-50 mm/s speed is recommended (for Bowden extruder).
  • Material Drying: Polypropylene has low moisture absorption, but if drying is needed, 50°C for 4 hours is recommended.
  • Storage: Keep the filament in a dry and dark place, ideally in a sealed container with a moisture absorber.
