Filament GEMBIRD HIPS 1.75mm
HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) filament from Gembird is a versatile material for 3D printing, known especially for its solubility in limonene. This property makes it an ideal support material for printing complex models with overhangs. Thanks to its impact resistance, it is also suitable for printing functional prototypes and mechanically stressed parts.
Main Advantages

Applications
Ideal for:
- Printing supports for complex models
- Functional prototypes
- Mechanically stressed parts
- Models requiring post-processing
Storage and Maintenance
HIPS filament is sensitive to moisture, so we recommend:
-
Storing in a sealed package with a moisture absorber (such as silica gel) or in an airtight box such as Polymaker PolyDryer™ Box
-
If necessary, dry before printing at 70 °C for 4–6 hours, ideally in a filament dryer such as Polymaker PolyDryer™
-
Store in a dark and dry environment
These measures help maintain filament quality and ensure reliable printing results
Compatibility
This material is suitable for most FDM/FFF 3D printers with a heated bed and the ability to print at higher temperatures. For optimal results, we recommend printing in an enclosed chamber.
Note: For best results, we recommend making a test print before your first use to optimise the settings for your specific printer.
