All-metal Heatbreak

Advantages

Compared to the PTFE version, it is more versatile, more durable, has a long lifetime means less hassle for the 3D printer and the ability to print even materials that require higher temperatures. However, a prerequisite for it to work properly is good quality manufacturing, especially smooth internal walls that minimize the resistance of material.

Disadvantages

Heatbreak can cause slight problems with PLA and retraction due to its higher adhesion to the walls. If you are mainly printing PLA and are not printing materials that require temperatures of 250°C or more degrees, the PTFE version combined with a good quality PTFE tube is a safer choice.

Notice

  • Never tighten the nozzle without holding the heater block with pliers. 
  • Avoid over-tightening or banging the nozzle into the heated bad, which can lead to heat break damage.
  • Make sure the nozzle and the bottom of the heatbreak are well sealed. Otherwise, molten plastic will leak around the threads
