Dimafix Pen: Simplify and Enhance the 3D Printing Process.

Thanks to Dimafix technology, the first layers in the printing process adhere to the heated print bed at the spot where the part is to be printed. This intervention prevents unwanted effects or deformations. Once the printing process is completed and the temperature of the bed is below 50 ºC, the model can be removed from the bed without any effort and without the need for any tools that could damage the part or the print surface.

Features

  • Ensures excellent adhesion between the plastic and the bed, so deformation is not a problem even with large ABS parts.
  • You will be able to print from all types of thermoplastic materials.
  • The adhesive property is activated when the temperature of the bed is above 50 °C.
  • As long as the bed is heated, the adhesive effect works even with large prints.
  • When the temperature of the heated bed drops below approximately 40 - 50 °C, the adhesive effect disappears and the model can be easily separated.
  • It is soluble, so it can be easily cleaned with just water.
  • It has a long lifespan (more than 100 uses).

Dimafix provides maximum adhesion of ABS to common printing surfaces, annealed or borosilicate glass. For each type of print and parts, there is an optimal temperature at which Dimafix completely prevents deformation.

Behavior of Dimafix with ABS

Dimafix® provides different adhesion values between the printed parts and the bed depending on the temperature. This is a fundamental function for 3D printing, allowing the user to distinguish four operating temperature zones in which different useful behaviors can be achieved by setting different temperatures of the 3D printer's print bed. This behavior allows for easy printing of ABS without any concerns.

Operating Temperature Zones

The following four operating temperature areas represent different adhesion of the Dimafix solution.

Zone 4. Bed temperature between 95 °C and 120 °C

Maximum adhesion zone. Any size and geometry can be printed without deformation. The adhesion tension between the part and the bed is maximal on the site, allowing any stress concentration factor. These are optimal values that guarantee the best quality of sharp edges and peaks, where internal stresses caused by temperature generally concentrate.

This setting is also recommended for printing large and complex pieces that require a long printing time. The maximum tested area was 480 × 240 mm, and continuous printing lasted more than 48 hours.

Zone 3. Bed temperature between 75 °C and 95 °C

High adhesion. Any type of geometry can be printed, especially pieces up to 200 × 200 mm, which is the most common size of desktop 3D printers. It is recommended for quality sharp edges and peaks that are not affected by high tension during cooling (due to stress concentration caused by temperature). It can also provide good results in long printing.

Zone 2. Bed temperature between 65 °C and 75 °C

Medium adhesion zone. Recommended for simple pieces without sharp edges, peaks, or complex geometric shapes. It can be used for rounded bases, bevels, curves, etc., while avoiding sharp edges or slim profiles that are long and at the same time thick. It is also used for medium printing times.

Zone 1. Bed temperature below 65 °C

Separate separation zone. If the bed is cooled below this temperature, the printed parts automatically separate from the bed without user intervention.

Instructions for Use

1. Shake the Dimafix Pen before use

2. Apply Dimafix evenly on a cold bed. Let Dimafix dry before starting to print.

3. After printing, let the bed cool down. The printed model can be easily removed once the bed has cooled.

4. To remove Dimafix and clean the bed, NEVER use cleaning agents! Clean with water and a soft cloth only.
