3D Sphynx PCTG Filament

PCTG (Polycyclohexylenedimethylene terephthalate-glycol) is a modern 3D printing material that is gaining increasing importance among users seeking a combination of durability, easy printability, and visual quality. Compared to the commonly used PET-G, PCTG offers higher impact toughness, significantly lower shrinkage, and better resistance to chemicals and temperatures. This makes it an ideal choice for manufacturing functional parts that must withstand demanding conditions or have a distinctive aesthetic appearance.

Comparison of PCTG with Other Materials

PET-G
Compared to PET-G, PCTG has higher impact toughness, better chemical resistance, and significantly lower shrinkage during printing.

PLA
Compared to PLA, PCTG is much more resistant to impacts, temperature, and chemicals. It also retains easy processing and provides a very high-quality surface.

ABS
Compared to ABS, PCTG is less demanding in terms of printing conditions – it does not require an enclosed chamber and the resulting prints have better visual properties. 

Storage

Store the filament in a dry and clean place, ideally in an airtight container with desiccant, such as silica gel. For long-term protection against moisture, we recommend using a specialised box, such as the Polymaker PolyDryer™ Box, which will keep the filament in optimal condition and ensure reliable print quality.
