3D Sphynx PC Blend GF20: Maximum Performance for Demanding Applications

3D Sphynx PC Blend GF20 is a highly durable technical filament made from a modified blend of polycarbonate (PC) and other technical polymers, reinforced with 20% glass fibres. This advanced blend provides exceptional strength, thermal stability, and dimensional stability, making it ideal for demanding technical and industrial applications.

If your projects require a material that can withstand high mechanical loads, thermal stress, and at the same time maintain precise dimensions, 3D Sphynx PC Blend GF20 is designed precisely for these purposes.

Key Properties

  • High mechanical strength and stiffness:

    • Tensile strength reaches up to 100 MPa and the tensile modulus is 6000 MPa. These parameters ensure the reliability of parts even under intensive mechanical loading.

  • Thermal resistance up to 150 °C:

    • Thanks to high Vicat softening temperature and HDT (Heat Deflection Temperature) values, this filament is also suitable for parts exposed to significant thermal stress.

  • Excellent impact resistance:

    • The contained glass fibres increase the material's impact strength and the strength of prints in critical areas.

  • Dimensional stability and low shrinkage:

    • An excellent choice for printing structural parts where precise dimensions without unwanted deformations are required.

  • Chemical resistance:

    • The material is resistant to oils, cleaning agents, and common industrial chemicals.

Important Instructions for Successful Printing

  • Printing in an enclosed chamber is a necessity: To achieve high-quality results and optimal mechanical properties of prints, an enclosed print chamber is required.
  • Recommendation for maximum performance: To achieve the best results, especially regarding interlayer adhesion and elimination of internal stress in the material, we recommend actively heating the print chamber to a temperature above 60 °C.
  • Material abrasiveness: Glass fibres make this filament abrasive. It is necessary to use a wear-resistant nozzle.

Recommended Print Settings and Technical Specifications

  • Material: Modified blend of polycarbonate (PC) and other technical polymers, reinforced with 20% glass fibres
  • Filament Diameter: 1.75 mm ± 0.05 mm
  • Weight: 400 g
  • Nozzle Temperature: 290–310 °C
  • Bed Temperature: 100–120 °C
  • Print Speed: Max. 90 mm/s (it is recommended to start with lower values and optimise)
  • Cooling (Part Fan): 0–25 %
  • Flow Rate: 0.85–0.95 (may require individual calibration)
  • Brim/Raft: Brim is recommended to improve bed adhesion.
  • Nozzle: It is essential to use a wear-resistant nozzle (hardened steel, ruby, carbide-tipped).

Areas of Use

  • Industrial parts and enclosures
  • Automotive components
  • Electronic housings
  • Functional prototypes with high mechanical and thermal loads

Storage

Store the filament in a dry place, as moisture negatively affects layer adhesion and the final mechanical properties of prints. It is recommended to store it in a resealable container with a desiccant (e.g., silica gel).

Try 3D Sphynx PC Blend GF20 and achieve professional results with a filament designed for maximum performance in demanding applications.
