The main function of the printing surface is to provide a flat and smooth surface to which the bottom (first) layer adheres during printing. For this to happen, the printing substrate must create a temporary bond with the first layer of the printed filament. This bond is crucial for print stability and the quality of the final print. A properly chosen printing surface ensures that the first layer adheres well, which minimizes the risk of deformations and detachment during printing.
